Automatic Control of Roof and Gutter Heat Trace
The Easy Heat roof sentry RS-2 roof and gutter deicing controller is designed to automatically control a single, pre-terminated, roof and gutter heating cable. With the do-it-yourself customer in mind, the RS-2 is easy to install, and with a 1200 Watt capacity, the controller will satisfy most roof and gutter heat trace cable installations.
The RS-2 takes the guess work out of knowing when to energize roof and gutter deicing heating cables. The unit will automatically control a single, pre-terminated, heating cable up to 1200 watts. The RS-2 requires two conditions to be present before it energizes roof deicing cable: cold temperatures (On at 38F and Off at 48F) and the presence of runoff water from the roof in contact with its sensor wire. If only one of the conditions exists, the control will not energize the cable. This creates an efficient and cost effective ice dam solution.
