Danfoss Ice Guard is a self-regulating heating cable. The heat output of the conductive core material increases or decreases in response to ambient temperature changes. This ensures that heat is only applied where it is needed and maximizes energy efficiency. Typically used for pipe freeze protection as well as roof and gutter de-icing, the Danfoss Ice Guard is your simple solution for all your freeze protection needs.

All cables have a 6 foot cold lead (the 6 feet of cold lead is not part of the specified length of the cable - i.e. the 6 foot cable is 12 feet long total with 6 foot of heated cable.)

With self-regulating technology, no thermostat is required and you can overlap the cable without overheating worries. The cable varies its heat output in relation to the ambient temperature along the entire length of the cable. For installation on pipes, wrap the Ice Guard cable around the pipe or run it along the pipe length. Install insulation as the final step.
